River Rangers

The WA Cadets ‘River Rangers’ program is hosted by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and is sponsored by the Department Communities. The River Rangers Program empowers students to make positive changes for their local communities, waterways & ultimately the Swan Canning Riverpark.

The program focuses environmental education and enquiry based action research and collaborative learning. Students work in groups and are responsible for designing and carrying out projects connected to the school environment, the Swan and Canning Riverpark and their local waterways.

Education for Sustainability underpins the River Ranger process and there is also a strong focus on developing teamwork, leadership, initiative and problem solving.

The program on operates on Wednesday afternoons after school.
